Junior Sailing

Llyn Brenig Sailing Club provides a full programme of junior sailing, from beginners right through to National squad. Club boats include Optimists, Toppers and Laser Picos, all of which are available to help develop young sailors. A full range of RYA training courses, junior racing, training and fun sailing activities are provided.

Children new to sailing can take part in the Onboard course which is available to help local schoolchildren start sailing. For more information regarding Onboard and Junior training please contact the Training Principal, David Waltho at:

Once trained, juniors can progress by practicing in the club fleets of Optimists and Laser Picos (which are free of charge in their first season). Towards the end of their first season, any sailors who are ready can take part in the RYA Onboard Regatta, which this year will be held at Bala Sailing Club in September. This is often where the fun with regional club sailing really begins.

Every year we hold a Try Sailing Day, which this year is on Monday 2nd May. Please come along and meet us and enjoy a FREE sail. Hot drinks are available from the galley, a wide range of refreshments and an adventure playground are available at the Visitor’s Centre.
